As stewards of Utah’s future, it’s essential that we ensure all young people are equipped with the values, education, and opportunities they need to become leaders and community-builders. In spite of this, many students today face challenges that put them at risk of falling behind—such as lower graduation rates and limited pathways to self-reliance.
Supporting students and their families in their educational journey will help these young Utahns contribute to our state’s future prosperity and uphold the principles that make Utah strong: innovation, opportunity for all, and the idea that we are better together.
“In 2020, nearly 1 in 3 Utahns under the age of 18 identified as part of a racial or ethnic minority, reflecting a 24% increase since 2010 (2020 U.S. Census). Latino youth make up the largest share of this group at 40.1%, representing a growing segment of Utah’s rising generation.”
